Since when is high school the toughest part of overall school and college the reward? Why is the pressure put on the teenagers to pull all nighters? I believe this system flawed, but nothing can be done about that so easily. Because of this students have prioritized sleep as a secondary need. At least schools should listen to the researchers and agree to start school no earlier than 8:30am.

Sleep deprivation is going to have long term effects on all students. Nobody can do it all – its either sleep deprivation or college. Right now to have 8 hours for me is a dream - my normal is 6-7 just like many others out there. I know people who get back from softball games at 11pm and then have to start on work. My tennis games sometimes bring me back past 8. The demand from high schoolers is just too much but like I said we can’t do much about college expectations.
